Our 2027 Minack Tour
In July 2027 we will as usual be performing our summer show at Merrist Wood from July 14 – 17, with an all new production of The Comedy of Errors – but we are delighted to announce that from August 30 – September 2 we will also be touring our show to The Minack Theatre in Cornwall. The Comedy of Errors is William Shakespeare’s shortest and most farcical play; written in the early 1590s, it is a fast-paced comedy built on a complex series of mistaken identities involving two sets of identical twins.
It’s possibly Shakespeare’s silliest comedy, unashamedly daft, full of chaos, and slapstick. Watch the chaos unfold on our boardwalk as two pairs of identical twins disrupt a sleepy coastal town. One Chaplin looks exactly like the other, and a pair of Keatons are causing double the trouble! Expect flying custard pies, dizzying physical stunts, and breathless chases in this high-energy, family-friendly romp.
Pack your picnic, grab your deckchair, and prepare for a wave of pure theatrical joy under the stars. It is Shakespeare as you have never seen it before: silent era style, loud with laughter!
