Guildburys at The Minack

“The first view of the Minack is breathtaking. On arrival one suddenly realises that it is actually true – it really is built into the cliff side and the backcloth really is the sea.

During a hectic day of preparation, news that our Prince of Morocco was unwell was greeted with alarm, but a back up plan was hastily put in place with the director hastily learning his lines. Fortunately the Prince arrived minutes before ‘curtain up’.

The weather was kind, although during the sunny matinee the actors became disembodied voices as a heavy sea mist suddenly enveloped the stage. But most of all there remains the delight of a week whose ingredients included sunshine, fun, camaraderie, success and the wonderful exhilaration of performing at The Minack.”
