We are collectively committed to bringing exciting, imaginative performances before our audiences. The company is proud of the enviable reputation we have forged for over 40 years and is determined to maintain it. Our productions are largely created at a rehearsal space in Normandy, 4 miles from Guildford, but the membership comes from all parts of Surrey and the adjoining counties. We look for people who share our values, enthusiasm and passion. Joining details here

THE ANNUAL PROGRAMME

Autumn and Spring shows are performed at The Electric Theatre, Guildford. With its convenient town centre location providing easy parking, its riverside bar and excellent restaurant offering pre-theatre suppers, the Electric is popular with actors and audiences alike. Electric Theatre shows have a wide remit & in addition we frequently undertake one and sometimes two festival productions each year. The company has also twice performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, gaining a 'four star' review in 2006. Our summer show is an open air production at Farnham Castle, where the dry moat provides a perfect outdoor amphitheatre for theatre 'al fresco'. This production is a costumed, large cast play, frequently of a classical nature. It attracts capacity audiences who picnic on the moat banks and enjoy the special ambience of summer outdoor theatre. HISTORY

The company name is an amalgam of Guildford , the area in which it toured its productions, and Albury , the Surrey village in which the society originated in 1963. For the first four years the company mainly produced musicals, touring them around local villages and small towns using an old double decker bus for transport that became a local celebrity in its own right, attracting much attention wherever it went.
